The Grand Régional de Tourisme Equestre de la Vienne took place on Saturday August 18, 2023 and Sunday August 19
Most riders arrived on Friday evening, ready for an early start on Saturday morning.
On Friday evening, we gathered for a welcome drink in the company of the local councillors.
President Anne Van Aubel thanked them for their contributions, notably in cleaning and improving the paths.
The evening was rounded off by a meal together, with pizzas prepared on site by Valérie, who had brought along her pizza oven.
Early on Saturday morning, the riders set off on their mounts for a 31 km route, with a snack break every 2/3 of the way. The often shady route and several fords meant that the horses arrived in great shape.
The evening ended with a communal meal prepared by a caterer, and the 250th anniversary celebration of Acadia, featuring 2 musical groups, including the Leblanc family group from Canada. This gave the hikers a chance to dance to the lively rhythms.
Sunday's ride, on a slightly more wooded route, went very well.
The Comité de Tourisme Equestre would like to thank the riders, some of whom came from far and wide, for their active and sympathetic participation.
Based on the feedback we received, we are looking forward to a repeat event in 2024.
